The socialization of Indonesia Biosafety Clearing House was held on October 17, 2008 in Andalas University-Padang, West Sumatra. This event was held by LIPI in cooperation with Research Institution of Andalas University-Padang. This event was held as a seminar with presenters from Research Center for Bioteknologi - LIPI and the participants were the lecturers and researchers from Andalas University.

The 4th Indonesian Biotechnology Conference was held on 5 - 7 August 2008, at IPB International Convention Center, Bogor, West Java. This event was held by Indonesian Biotechnology Consortium with "Biotechnology for better food, health and environment" as the theme and there were 300 participants. This event was organized as seminar and exhibition.

In order to socialize about biosafety, we took part in 2008 EXPO LIPI (Indonesian Institutes of Sciences) which held to solemnize 100 years of Indonesian National Awakening. The event was held for three days: 4 – 6 August 2008 at Sahid Jaya Hotel Jakarta.

The socialization about the result of COP-9 CBD and MOP-4 held at Bonn, German (12-30 May 2008) were held on Tuesday, 16 July 2008 at C Building Ministry of Environment – Jakarta. This event were led by Deputy for Improvement of Natural Resource Conservation and Control of Environment Damage. The results were presented as related field and being asked for any addition to Indonesian delegation(s).

Regional Seminar on Promoting and Implementing Biosafety and Biosecurity Management was held on 4-5 June 2008. The seminar was held in Grand Hyatt Hotel, Jakarta. This event was endorsed by Department of Foreign affair in corporation with Norwegian Embassy, UN Biological Weapons Convention Implementation Support Unit, and Eijkman Institution of Biology Molecular.
